Brothers and Sisters Project

Having both my parents with me as I grew up, I felt extremely fortunate. I have learned of so many children that have only one parent and sometimes none.

This is where Big Brothers & Big Sisters come in. I was so glad that when my good friends Gabe Ritter & Dave Scherer called me for help, I was able to pitch in.

The building was going to be all masonry and located in Logan, Ohio (near Old Man's Cave). They wanted the biggest fireplace in the United States. My Grandfather, Father, and his brothers built fireplaces and taught me all their tricks.

My son, Bryan and I needed them as we personally built this fireplace that was 8'10" wide 5'4" high with a 47' tall chimney.

It was a tough job as it was done in the middle of winter but many people have been helped along the way. I've always tried to teach this principle to my children and was proud of my son who was a big help.

True joy comes in giving and many people gave their hearts to this project.
