Living in Columbus, Ohio I heard of Clark Kellogg before he even moved
here, as he played in the State High School Championship and scored 51
points in one game. (The record is held by Jerry Lucas at 53.)
Everyone
knew he was going to be special as a basketball player. I don't know if anyone could
have guessed Clark would grow to be a man of such fine character. I would get invited to
many golf tournaments and Clark would be playing in them. I would get
invited to a breakfast or luncheon and Clark would be speaking.
I was
so impressed by the way he carried himself and the good he did for this
town. One day he came to the golf club where I was a member.
Watching him play through the trees as he was with his father. They
were having such a good time.
I remember saying, "This guy is for
real. What makes him so different?" A few years later the Columbine
Tragedy occurred and I knew this world needed a different direction.
I
knew I needed a different direction so after playing music till 2:00 am
I remembered a church that was in front of my old high school so I went
and sat in the parking lot.
A month before I was playing golf with my son, a man whom I just
met - Ron Burton invited me to come to the same
church.
I accepted Christ in my life that day and ask God to forgive of
my sins.
As I looked up from my prayer and with tears in my eyes, the
first person I seen was Clark Kellogg and from that day on, I knew why
he was so different.
Three years later I was invited to a breakfast
where Clark was speaking that morning and if I had one chance to talk
to someone and would never be able to speak to them again, I would say
to them, what Clark said that morning.
I ask you, please take thirty minutes in a nice relaxed place and listen to
this show. And please feel free to share this message.
